Rope Access Technician and Occupational Safety Professional
Thank you for your interest in working with me and taking the time to visit my website. The purpose of this site is to augment my resume and provide further background information for future employers.
For those companies I presently work with, this site will provide a means to access my current availability. The most difficult thing to do when working with part time / as needed / casual employees is to determine availability. It is my goal to make that a simpler process.
If you are not familiar with my work and your first contact with me is online: I would be interested to hear from you! Please let me know what your needs and questions are, and I will be more than happy to help.
In brief, you should know the following about me and the executive summary goes like this: I have a 25+ year background in construction from performing general labor to industrial maintenance and structural steel welding, with plenty in between.
I have been involved with work requiring adherence to fall protection standards since 2002. I first started working in a vertical environment in the wireless construction industry in 2004, and have served in a safety management capacity since 2005.
I am an approved OSHA construction outreach trainer, authorized to train various First Aid and CPR courses for the AHA and ECSI. I also provide training for fall protection and other working at heights topics.
I currently hold a SPRAT (Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians) Level 2 authorization, and expect to hold level 3 before the end of the 1st quarter 2012.
My definition of Rope Access Work places an emphasis on the word "work". I view rope access as a method of transportation to a work site. Once we arrive at that work site we must then perform some function or series of tasks for our employers.
I am a "hands on" working rope access technician and safety professional. I completely understand we must perform our work as safely as possible and meet the requirements of the regulatory agencies, and that safety is first. I am also fully aware that we need to perform the work or tasks at hand in a profitable manner for the companies we are working for.
It is the balance that I have of hands on experience in the industries I support and the safety background and knowledge that I posses that provides the added value for an employer that they are looking for in a part time / as needed / casual employee.
